Welcome to the Mississauga Ribfest volunteer information page. We are preparing to launch our 6th consecutive fun-filled event in the heart of Mississauga! Volunteers like you play a pivotal role in the success of this event. In-fact, Rotary itself is a network of volunteers throughout many communities throughout the world who are committed to service.

Our 3-day RIBFEST event requires hundreds of volunteer shifts to cover security, entertainment, grounds maintenance, beverage service and a host of other important functions.

ADULT VOLUNTERS are needed to assist in several areas. First, our security and monitoring volunteers ensure we comply with the laws that govern the serving of alcohol. All alcoholic beverages must be restricted to the licensed area. Alcohol is also not to be allowed to enter or leave our grounds. Security volunteers also keep a vigilant watch to ensure that bicyclists, pets, skate boarders which potentially could create an unsafe situation are not allowed to enter the site.

Other adult volunteers restock our vending locations with ice and supplies. (requires some heavy lifting.)

Volunteers assist as ticket sellers and servers for our bar beverage service. (You must be SMART SERVE CERTIFIED and bring your SMART SERVE identification card and pin. See www.smartserve.com for more information.)

ALL ADULT VOLUNTEER POSITIONS have been filled for 2010. We thank you for your interest and encourage you to volunteer in 2011.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS also play a key role in Ribfest. Some volunteers seat guests attending the children’s shows in the outdoor theatre, or assist our RIBFEST pig mascots. Others help our greeters at the entrance gates with handouts. We also need volunteers to help us to recycle and maintain tables and grounds in a clean and presentable condition. Student volunteers also distribute cold drinks to other volunteers throughout the event.
